The newly formed company was born thanks to the acquisition of Tecnimont by Maire Group at the end of 2005 and has become one of the leading Italian engineering & contracting companies, with a reputable international experience and multifunctional expertise in broad ranging sectors like petrochemicals, oil & gas, infrastructures, power, civil and industrial construction and facility management.
Maire Tecnimont works through its two operating companies, Maire Engineering and Tecnimont, and has a consolidated presence with subsidiaries and engineering structures in Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, India, and representative offices in more than 30 countries worldwide. In 2005 the Company’s backlog reached 3.4 billion € with a turnover of 0.9 billion €.
TECNIMONT Tecnimont is word leader in the polyolefin sector: it has designed and built over 120 polypropylene and polyethylene plants in more than 80 countries. Over the last decade it has played a role of primary importance as contractor, responsible for the design, procurement and construction for the 25% of polyolefin world productive capacity; it has consolidated experience in many other sectors, including chemical, intermediates and fertilizers. It also operates in the oil & gas sector thanks to Sofregaz, a company highly specialised in the field of natural gas.
MAIRE ENGINEERING Maire Engineering applies its excellent engineering skills in the design and construction of complex civil and industrial works, territorial redevelopment projects, large-scale transport infrastructures and power plants where it combines extensive technological and project management capabilities, with great attention to research in terms of quality architectural solutions and respect for the environment. It is also specialised in the recovery and renovation of buildings of historical and artistic value and in the field of environmental impact analysis.
