ECI has elected John Oliver, Head of Project Management BG Group as its new Chairman. John takes over from the previous Chair, Ron McCaffer who held this position for just over two years.
John was appointed to his current role with BG Group in June 2009. He joined them from the airport operator BAA where he was one of the Project Leaders for Terminal 5 at Heathrow.
During his 25 year career he has delivered major projects in a variety of sectors and has worked for BP, Dynegy and Enron. He has been involved in the origination, development, delivery and assessment of capital projects.
John is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Association for Project Management, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Energy Institute. In 2009 he was made a member of the Worshipful Company of Engineers, a City of London Livery Company, and is a Freeman of the City of London.
